Nur Otan holds campaign for Kazakh diasporas

A large-scale campaign has been held in the city of Semei. It was organized by the “Nur Otan” party and its aim is to send books and CDs to areas densely populated by Kazakh expat communities. At the recent Fourth World National Assembly of Kazakh people in Astana, President Nazarbayev put forward an initiative on expanding and supporting Kazakh culture in the foreign countries, which are home to Kazakh Diasporas. The initiative was seconded by the “Nur Otan” party.

Nurlan Nigmatulin, First Deputy Chairman, “Nur Otan” People’s Democratic Party:
- Since the first days of Kazakhstan’s independence, the President, who is the leader of the “Nur Otan” party, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has been carrying out systematic work to ensure that Kazakhstan remained a common home for all Kazakh people, regardless of where they live. First of all, this is about full support for over 800 thousand ethnic Kazakhs, who returned to their historic homeland, as well as our fellow countrymen who still live abroad. And today’s campaign by the “Nur Otan” party is a part of this enormous work of fulfilling the president’s request to support the development of Kazakh culture, traditions, and customs, outside Kazakhstan.

“Nur Otan” is in charge of other projects that support Kazakh people who reside in foreign countries. The project that is being implemented now aims at sending all kinds of materials that tell about the achievements of Kazakhstan over 20 years of independence to Kazakh diasporas. Books, movies, photo albums, Kazakh folk songs and music on CDs are intended for Kazakh people living in Russia and Mongolia.
