The Kazakhstan men's national water polo team has taken a brilliant victory at the Asian Championship in Japan. Four national teams competed not only for the continental gold, but also for a single qualification for the London Olympics. The Kazakhstan team gained a victory in all of its matches by beating the teams of China - 8:7, Japan - 6:4 and Kuwait - 10:5. As a result, Kazakhstan’s water polo players became undisputed champions of the continent. However, the main achievement for the Kazakh team was the Olympic licence allowing it to compete at the London Olympics.

«We have gained an Olympic qualification and we want to show a good performance there. In the Russian championship we finished in the top 6. Now, we will be competing for gold medals in the Russian championship. It is going to be our main preparation for the London Olympics and the world league which is to be held in Almaty.»
