In the Almaty film studio “KazakhFilm” work on two new pictures “Kune” and “The Hour of the Wolf” are coming to a close. “Kune” when translated from Kazakh means “Sin”. Producer Bulat Sharipov and writer Aigul Kenelbayeva wrote the script based on the story by Magzhan Zhumabayev “The Sin of Sholpan”
Bulat Sharipov, film director:
“I was struck by the bravery of the theme which was touched upon at that time. It was the beginning of the 1930s. This is funny and simply about a family – he and she.”
These are the photos of the actors that starred in the other film based on the story by Mukhtar Auyezov “The Lot of an Orphan”. Anatolyi Kim wrote the script. As film director Rymbek Alpiyev said, they inserted some elements of mysticism into the adaptation. The film will appear on the screens under the name “The Hour of Wolf”, this wolf is a retributive mystical character. The authors say they wanted to answer the question “Why does good generate evil”.
Rymbek Alpiyev, film director:
“The answer is when we - people - learn how to look in the eyes of other people in a different manner. For example, when I start looking at you as if a wonder had appeared on the earth. And if you, in your turn, start looking at me in the same way, then we might have a chance to survive and live in harmony.”
Now the films are currently being edited. The final touches are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
