A joint international military operation aimed at fortification of hard-to-reach mountainous areas of the border has been held on the territory of the Zharkent frontier troops. At the training, China is represented by its frontier security guards with the event being organised on the initiative of the Chinese side as part of the country’s authority improvement ahead of the 29th Summer Olympic Games. China has already fortified all of its border using aircraft and an increased number of the military with engineer barriers having been installed in some areas.

“We are holding a joint operation today and it is aimed at fortifying control over the hard-to-reach areas. First of all, it is being done because of the forth-coming Olympic Games and due to some other reasons preventing people from illegal border crossing. In turn, the Chinese frontier troops have also strengthened their work by installing additional border units. Everyday we have working meetings, and specify patrol units’ tasks to make them meet with those of the Chinese side”.

The two countries hope that those warm relations between their frontier troops will always be a kind tradition.
